What Really Happened?
Okay, so it’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve posted – closer to two and a half weeks – and I’ve previously posted that I am back on track. So what really happened?
First, an unexpected incident threw me off course. Did it have to? NO, but I let the event be my excuse for “taking some time for me.” Let’s face it folks, no matter how well we prepare for it, life is gonna happen! That doesn’t mean that we have to stop ( like I did ). It means we have to assess the situation, adjust the course and keep moving forward … that’s all! Yes, it really is that simple.
So let’s look at what really happened:
First, I didn’t have a contingency plan. Yes, life happens and we have to adjust for those little hiccups, speed bumps and unforeseeable circumstances that are sure to arrive at the most inconvenient of times. I promise you, they will happen!
For instance, there is no internet service at the office today AND the service provider has taken today off for the Presidents Day Holiday. I know I have internet service at home, so I went about my work business at the office as far as I could without the internet and now I am finishing up internet related work at home. It’s not to focus on what could go wrong, but it’s nice to have a Plan B … just in case and, most importantly, contingency plans help reduce stress!

Second, I gave myself an unrealistic goal – I was going to post every day … maybe even two or three times a day if necessary. Though my intention was good, I know better that to put this kind of idealistic demand on myself – I admit that I am not very disciplined, but I am getting better. It would have been more reasonable to say that I would post as often as necessary with a minimum of a two posts a week.
“Discipline Is The Bridge Between Goals and Accomplishment.” ~ Jim Rohn
Third, the fact is that, although I know this will prove to be a very beneficial experience, I thought it was going to be fun – failing to realize that, for me, change is not fun! Still, I felt that this would be an enjoyable adventure – not realizing that there would be some real work involved and I’m not the type of person who equates work with fun. So there is some necessary maturing needed on my part, as well.

So what was the result?
You may have already guessed …
I purchased another product …
Did it meet my criteria? It came from a very TRUSTED SOURCE; It was WAY TOO INEXPENSIVE to pass up ( I know how much value Paul Myers gives with his products ); It is something I WANT TO LEARN ( and honestly, I feel that I should be able to grasp this idea, I just can’t seem to wrap my head around it ); and I WILL BE USING IT NOW. So YES, it met my criteria for purchase ( although, let’s be clear that the “price” is NOT the criteria “VALUE” is! ). Still, had I kept on track with what I was doing before veering off track, would I have purchased this product? Yes, I do believe so!
That’s enough for today. I know my thoughts are still pretty scattered and, in time, they will start to coalesce which will be the first sign that true change is happening.
Tonight we crack open Kevin Hogan’s book, “The 168-Hour Week: Living Life Your Way 24/7”. Though I’ve read the book previously, NOW I will be following along and actually doing the exercises outlined.
Until next time … Keep Moving Forward!
